In 1996, West-Mont became aware that a 10-acre parcel of land was available for purchase directly bordering and south of the existing North Coventry Campus. After much prayer concerning God's will and the future needs of the Academy, the Board made an offer to purchase this property. West-Mont families stepped forward with prayer and financial support which allowed WCA to purchase this property . The parcel will provide for the athletic and facility needs of West-Mont for many decades to come. This wonderful addition brings the entire campus to 22 acres in size.
Through the years, God has supplied in marvelous ways. He has faithfully guided the school board in several program changes that have proven to be successful in communicating the gospel to a lost and dying world. Marked by the beginning of our growing sports programs, in 1988, the Academy hired its first athletic director, Mr. Douglas Wynne. Through his guidance, the athletic department has grown to over seventeen teams, competing in various sports within the school. More exciting is the fact that our students have become known for their Godly witness on the field to other schools.
The Resource Room was established in 1992 with the mission, to meet the unique needs of students who struggle in various academic areas. This program, along with a companion program N.I.L.D. (National Institute for Learning Disabilities), have become an answer to prayer for several families who were searching for answers to their students' learning challenges. West-Mont believes that Christian schools need to minister to the entire population, not just the academically gifted. The Resource Room has given the opportunity to students with various needs to find warm, loving acceptance in the classroom.

The Fine Arts department continues to see rapid growth. This year the MS music and art students attended the ACSA-MS Fine Arts Festival and brought home various awards. The MS Art students brought home many high rating ribbons for their art work, including the coveted Best of Show trophy. Our HS music (vocal ensemble, concert choir, vocal solos, instrumental solos, and Jazz Band) and art students attended HS ACSI for the fourth year in a row and earned high ratings for their excellent performances and art work. For the first time in WCA history, our Jazz Band won first place! It's been an exciting year for the HS Competition Choir. They competed in Music in the Parks at Dorney (Allentown) and received a first place in their division and the grand prize for all choral groups! The Ensemble has toured many weekends in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, sharing the good news to many teens and adults. Our school drama department put on three outstanding full productions this year: The Importance of Being Earnest, Much Ado About Nothing, and Annie Get Your Gun.

In 1993, to further spiritual growth and further prepare our students as Christian leaders, the advent of our Spiritual Life Fellowships sparked a renewed sense of commitment in the lives of our junior and senior high. Groups of 8 to 12 students are assigned to staff members for a one-year period of mentoring and fellowship. Weekly meetings allowed for sharing of testimonies, praying for fellow classmates, and Bible study. As an interdenominational Christian school, West-Mont finds itself uniquely positioned to meet the needs of families from a broad cross-section of the Christian community. In many ways, West-Mont functions as the hub of the wheel in the local Christian community, serving as a vehicle to enable Christian families, ministries, and churches to all work together to uplift the name of Jesus Christ. The Academy is blessed to be able to serve God in this manner.
As part of the maturation process of a healthy Christian school, West-Mont recently sought and received a full 10-year accreditation from the Association of Christian Schools International, and the Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges. Although most Christian schools and many public schools are not accredited, West-Mont chose to pursue the difficult path toward accreditation, knowing that the process would improve every area of school life.
Recently, the Academy accelerated its academic program to offer Advanced Placement courses in Calculus English, and US History. Further evidence of West-Mont's academic success has been the active recruitment of WCA graduates by colleges and universities. Over the past decade, approximately 80% of WCA graduates have matriculated to college bound programs. West-Mont students score well above the national average on standardized tests, including the SAT and ACT exams.

Most importantly, West-Mont's success will always be measured by how effectively the school has been able to meet the spiritual, emotional, and academic needs of each student. This is expressed by the Academy's Statement of Mission:

"The purpose of West-Mont Christian Academy
is to assist parents in the training of their children to honor God,
by providing a quality educational environment
where Godly character and unity in Christ can flourish
in order to develop individuals into productive servants for the Lord,
who will impact their world through biblical thought and action."

History of the Academy

West-Mont Christian Academy was founded in 1980 by its sister ministry, the Pottstown Youth Centre. Through the prayers, faithful service, and financial sacrifice of many committed individuals, WCA has weathered the storms of a young ministry. The school has now matured to its present position as a Christian school that offers a full academic program for students in kindergarten through grade twelve. The current enrollment of the Academy is 318 students.
