After years of prayer and investigation, the WCA Board of Directors
has made a decision to expand the ministry of the school at this time.
The following repesent some of the considerations involved in this decision.

■
The Board has faithfully sought to discern God's will through much prayer.

■  The current school buildings will reach capacity within two years. Steps need to be taken now to avoid permanent waiting lists in 2008.

■  The school's vision is to reach an enrollment of 1,000 students by 2018. This will include two satellite elementary schools in neighboring communities. The current elementary school will continue to function, however the middle and high school building must expand to meet the needs of the then three elementary schools.

■  Remodeling of the current elementary building is badly needed. The energy savings from a new heating system, insulated ceilings, and possible new windows will be significant. In addition, the new ceiling lighting will make the hallways and classrooms brighter. The new playground equipment will be a big boost to the students.

■  The Campaign will continue our efforts to improve teacher compensation. The average salary of our teachers will go from the current $25,000 per year to $30,000 over the 5-year campaign. We have great teachers; we also have a responsibility to pay them a God-honoring wage.

■  The creation of the Performing Arts Center will greatly free up the current gym for other uses. Practice times for sports teams will improve and the set-up / tear-down efforts of the current gym will diminish. In addition, the stage will be remodeled and changing rooms can be constructed to accommodate physical education classes and sports teams.

■  The new classrooms and Performing Arts Center (PAC) and will allow WCA to add about 100 new students. These new students are necessary to meet the increased operational needs - including new teachers. The first 60 seats in the PAC will also have fold-up arm desks to allow the auditorium to function as a large classroom and seminar space.

■  The initial construction of the PAC will provide 400 seats. If giving levels are strong, then a balcony could be added, bringing the total seating capacity to 600.

■  The timing of the decision to move forward is based upon many “coincidences” related to relationships with construction companies, local township decisions, and planned projects by area developers. There are many strong indications that God wants us to move forward at this time.

■  The demographic data of the area are very strong for additional growth. That will provide an increased number of Christian families in the area. We need to prepare a school for them.

■  The Board is united in taking this step, the morale of the school is strong, and parents have been very supportive of remodeling and expanding the facilities.

■  Corefield Consulting completed a comprehensive feasibility study which affirmed the Board's decision to move forward with the Campaign. Over 50 school families participated in the study.
