West-Mont organizes yearly short-term mission trips for students.
The purpose of these trips is to demonstrate the love of Christ to others. This can be accomplished by various means like working in feeding centers, orphanages, schools, and prisons. Team members also share the love of Christ through dramas, Vacation Bible School activities, and one-on-one witnessing. These opportunities are also a way to help fulfill WCA’s mission and bring God’s truth and purpose into the heart of every student participating.
WCA's emphasis on the great commission begins early and gradually expands throughout various elementary and middle school programs. Elementary and middle school students work on food drives, cleaning ministry, encouraging others,, and have participated in many local ministries. At the high school level the students have different opportunities to participate in the WCA Missions Program. During Winterim students have been able to be invovled in work camps, foreign trips, visitation to college missions programs, and local outreach opportunities. Each summer high school students who are on the WCA Missions team will also participate in the short-term trips that are offered for that year.
WCA has also joined with Schools Loving Schools to support New Hope Christian School in Guatemala, Central America. The WCA family prays for New Hope regularly, and sends supplies to them several times a year hoping to continue a healthy ministry relationship. WCA plans to continue to support the ministry of New Hope Christian School through teacher training, finances, building and grounds work, as well as future trips to the school.
WCA Missions Program makes every effort to ensure that the ministry taking place is sustainable and fruitful by securing lasting partnerships with established pastors and churches. We always want to ensure that our missionary work is helpful to those already on the ground in whatever city or country where we are serving.
