Monthly Update

May 2019

In the light of a king's face there is life,

and his favor is like the clouds that bring the spring rain.

Proverbs 16:15

Please note that this will be the last communication of this publication until June 7, as we have transitioned to a Monthly Update during spring and summer.

Please refer to this edition until that time.

Our Wellness Intern, Hunter Fegan has coordinated a Got Water ? campaign that will run May 20 - 23. The week will be filled with exciting videos played during lunch, a raffle drawing on the last day, many interesting facts, and encouragement to drink more water. We dedicate this time to encourage students and staff to drink plenty of water because of its many benefits. It is suggested that we drink an average of at least 8 cups of water on a typical day but let's be real, how many of us truly have a typical day? Water is a necessary resource for our bodies, as it helps to maintain safe pH levels, cleanses us from harmful toxins, is a great disperser of various vitamins and nutrients.

Our Afternoon Open House is scheduled on May 7, from 3:30 - 5:30 PM. Follow this link to the flyer to print and post with permission in your church, preschool, or other community setting.

• Summer Opportunity to Serve July 28 - August 3

Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors!

The Mission Team has an opportunity to serve with Brethren Disaster Ministries this summer in Lumberton, South Carolina, from July 28 - August 3. This area was hit by flooding/storms and caused major damage. This is a service/working trip and not a relational trip like Guatemala, so prayerfully consider the opportunity. Service during this trip will mainly entail working on rebuilding homes that were damaged.

The cost of the trip is $350.00 per person and needs to be paid in full by June 1.

We are only able to take 12 students, so they all must be 15 or older at the time of the trip, and they must complete an application. Please see Mrs. Fox for the paperwork, and email with any questions you may have.

Infinito's Fundraiser • May 16 from 4:00 - 9:00 PM

Please join us for a Mission Team Fundraiser at Infinito's Pizza, located at 222 Schuylkill Rd, Phoenixville, PA 19460. The pizza buffet prices are as follows:

Adults - $6.99, Children 6-10 - $5.99, Children 5 and under - $2.99, Drinks - $2.49

We hope to see you all there!

The Sanatoga Swim Club will be opening for the summer on Saturday, May 25! For more information about special Christian school membership rates, please go to Sanatoga Swim Club offers a 25 meter pool, a baby pool, two diving boards, night swimming, and a snack bar. They can also host family and church events; a large pavilion is available for groups of up to 400 people. In addition to swimming, Sanatoga Swim Club offers a spacious property that can accommodate up to 1000 people. The property includes basketball, tennis, and sand volleyball courts, as well as two playgrounds with picnic tables throughout the premises, surrounded by beautiful woods. We would like to invite our school family to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to join a faith-based swim club for the summer, or simply use their facilities for your next event! Some ideas that families and churches are currently implementing include:

  • Graduation Parties

  • Regular church picnics with special pricing for your specific activities.

  • Sunday service in the large pavilion, followed by a baptism and/or a church picnic and swimming.

  • Weekday evening Bible study, and small group or youth group activity and swim.

We are well underway with events and enrollment for the 2019-20 school year. If you have a child turning three, four, or five years of age by the first day of the next school year, and you would like to register him or her for preschool or kindergarten, please email to be added to a list to receive current information for upcoming events and deadlines pertaining to enrollment. Also, if you know anyone who may be interested in exploring what West-Mont has to offer for preschool or kindergarten, please email their contact information (with permission), and we will reach out to them with details in the coming months.

Follow this link for more information about volunteer opportunities and required clearance paperwork. Thank you for considering these opportunities to serve our school!

We have been presenting monthly community service projects, so we can all pitch in together and help our neighbors in need. The next date is coming up on May 18, and involves Hickory Park. They need help with their Food Truck Festival from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM, or 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Please RSVP to by Friday, May 17. Bike Rides with Mr. Bowman

Every summer, Mr. Bowman coordinates one or two bike rides per week with family and friends of WCA. Emails will go out regularly with times, dates, locations, and difficulty levels of the rides. The descriptions in these emails will allow each family to decide which rides they are able to attend. There will be rail-trail/road rides from 10-30 miles, and mountain bike rides from 5-12 miles, all at different paces. If you would like to be on the mailing list for ride information, email Mr. Bowman at Being on the mailing list does not commit you to any rides.
