All students should be prepared to think deeply and to think well in all areas that represent STEAM using a Christian Worldview. This will allow them to impact the world for Christ by having the chance to become the innovators, educators, researchers, and leaders who can solve the most pressing challenges facing our nation and our world, both today and tomorrow.
21st Century teaching skills are the foundation of STEAM.
This teaching style incorporates collaboration, innovation, creativity, technology, communication, problem-solving, cross-disciplinary thinking, and adaptability. These are all skills our children need and are learning to approach through all subject areas here at West-Mont. We have been working on incorporating 21st Century Learning to all subject areas to tap into students’ gifts, talents, and interests, as well as lay a foundation for promoting skills needed for STEAM initiatives.
Grades K-6 have their own STEAM lab, where teachers work with students to expand on classroom topics.
