DRESS CODE REMINDER
With the new school year comes a need to shop for school clothes, as children tend to grow considerably over the summer. Before you go shopping please take time to review the school's dress code. A few specific areas you will want to pay attention to for boys are properly fitting jeans, appropriate writing on t-shirts, and length of hair. For girls specific areas to watch are the length of skirts and dresses, tightness of jeans, and low front/sheer shirts. If you or your child has a specific dress code question please don't hesitate to contact us. Follow this link to our parent/student handbook, and refer to page 14.
DROP-OFF & PICK-UP PROCEDURES
Follow this link for detailed instructions for our drop-off and pick-up school safety procedures.
Last year a new sign was installed on campus at the right hand exit near the elementary building; this sign indicates that this area is a right hand turn only. Just a reminder to everyone that the reason for this update is for safety reasons alone. The right hand exit has limited visibility due to the hill, and therefore we have been asked by the North Coventry Police Department and our own West-Mont Safety Committee to observe this change in our traffic protocol; disregarding this change could result in a police citation being issued.
We instead ask that if you need to turn left out of the school at the front of our campus that you, slowly and carefully, cross in front of the elementary building and turn left out of the left hand exit, where visibility is unimpeded.
Follow this link for more information regarding low-pressure fundraising efforts you can participate in as you shop this school year including Amazon Smile, Boxtops for Education, Giant A+ Rewards, Redners’ Save-a-Tape, and Red Robin Loyalty Program.

• Thank you so much for your hard work this last month in the MS/HS Library. Twenty volunteers attended our cleaning day and tackled every nook and cranny of our beloved library. Every shelf was cleaned and every book dusted! 😀 Thank you, parent volunteers for accomplishing in three hours the task that usually takes me one week of my summer! You were giant blessings!
Sincerely, Mrs. Wynne
• Thank you to the parent, grandparent, and student volunteers who attended our Campus Weeding Day and WCA Mailing Day last month. Much was accomplished during these efforts, and your assistance was greatly appreciated! Thank you also to the "mystery weeder" who tackled the areas around the Elementary Building over last month; you are a blessing!
• Assisted Test Readers
Our Exceptional Education Department is looking for volunteers to read tests to students. A weekly commitment would be helpful, but days and times will vary according to scheduled tests. Being an Assisted Test Reader allows some flexibility for volunteers to accept different time frames every week that fit their schedule. Contact email@example.com to volunteer.
• Club Hosts
In preparation for our school year, we are looking for volunteers who are willing to share a skill or passion with our students by leading a club. The time commitment will be 45 minutes for one day a week. Clubs will take place during 7th and 8th periods from 1:30-2:15 PM and 2:15-3:00 PM for both middle school and high school. They can last for one or multiple quarters. You can choose the day and time slot that works best for you as well as the club theme that you enjoy. Feel free to be creative in what type of club you offer. Some ideas include: cooking, walking/running, soccer, frisbee, gardening, Pinterest, and card making, etc... All club hosts will need to have clearances on file in the school office and be a born again believer. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org to volunteer.
• Lunch & Recess Monitors
Our elementary staff is in need of volunteers to assist teachers with lunch and recess monitoring on a weekly basis. If you have availability during the day between the hours of 11:20 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., and are able to make a weekly commitment on Fridays, this would be a great opportunity for you to serve. Contact email@example.com to volunteer.
• Teacher’s Aides
We are in need of volunteers on a weekly basis to assist some of our teachers with grading and copying during the school day. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org to volunteer.
• Fall Weeding and Trimming
We are in need of volunteers to assist our ground and maintenance staff with weeding and trimming our campus this fall. If you have a block of time in your schedule to lend to this project, please contact email@example.com to coordinate where and when to focus your efforts.
WEST-MONT PARENT COUNCIL MEETING
September 18 at 2:30 PM in the MS/HS Conference Room
The West-Mont Parent Council (WPC) is an opportunity for WCA parents to bless our school. They do so by organizing special luncheons for teachers, beautifying our buildings and property, providing much-needed items for teachers and students, and much more. They raise money through low-pressure fundraisers, and have helped support the WCA Mission Team, contributed to a Gas Fund that helps defray the cost of field trips, and purchased items for teachers and staff that would not be covered by the budget.
Meetings are held as needed during the school year in the MS/HS Conference Room for a time of devotion, prayer, fellowship, and business. The WPC would love for you to be a part of this opportunity to be a blessing to our teachers and students.
