Winterim is a week-long program for students in grades 7-12. It is designed to expand experiences that will help students see where God is leading them for the future.  Each Winterim experience is based on several career focuses. Longer class sessions make it possible to truly learn and experience the field that a student is interested in.

All Winterim classes are 3 hours and fifteen minutes in length.  Students choose two classes during Winterim; one in the morning and one in the afternoon. They may also elect to serve in an internship for the week in a profession they may wish to pursue.  While participating in an internship, students will shadow and assist their host as directed.   Students are given missions and educational trip opportunities as well.  Finally, juniors and seniors may use Winterim to visit various colleges and universities they are interested in possibly attending.

We also need Winterim instructors!

Words from our students about their Winterim Experience

Lauren Wismer, 12th Grade

Winterim – Internships with All-Star Pediatrics and Allied Health

"I loved every little piece of knowledge that I gained. I got to see how a primary care doctor and nurse work on their personal connections with patients. The best part of the week was working with Dr. Chambers. He gave me so much insight on what it is like to be a Christian in a secular medical field and that you can take care of your patients physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I know that I want to be in the medical field and I am so thankful to have outlets like this program to really solidify my passions!"

Winterim – Observing a Physician's Assistant at A.I. DuPont Hospital in Delaware

"This visit helped to solidify my deicison to pursue becoming a Physician's Assistant, specifically in the field of orthopedics. It was a good learning experience as it showed the different jobs that a PA could have.

I received tips on what to do regarding attending PA school and what to do to secure a spot in one of these schools.

I saw how skilled the ER workers needed to be, as the tasks they carry out vary greatly, including the stitching done by the PA that I was observing."

Winterim – Internship with Occupational Health at CarePlex, Pottstown, PA

"This week, I shadowed several different

physical therapists. I feel I learned a lot by observing how these therapists treated different injuries and disabilities. I look forward to performing some of these tasks one day.

This week overall helped me to understand that I definitely have an interest in pediatric physical therapy."

Winterim – Evangelism Missions Trip to Key West, FL

"I knew this trip would be loads of fun. One thing I did not anticipate was how much I would learn and how much growth the other team members and I would experience.

During the trip , there was a constant vibe of support and encouragement from the other team members, leaders, and Pastor Bill. I loved how each day the team grew closer as we worked for the Kingdom.

Something important that I learned and will retain is that God's got it and I can depend on him in all things. In the words of my fellow classmate, John Jenkins, 'Jesus + nothing = everything.'

At the end of the trip, I was encouraged and any thought that 'I wasn't enough' ebbed from my mind."

Winterim – Evangelism Missions Trip to Key West, FL

"Leading up to the trip, I was very nervous, but also very excited. Whenever we prayed as a team, it calmed me and I kept repeating Phillippians 4:13 to help me and it gave me peace. 'I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

I found that I want to be a bright light in dark situations. I would love to pray with students at snack or lunch as well as expand my comfort zone to people I don't normally talk to, so I can understand their experiences.

I had a spiritual shower and the dark was washed away and the light was able to breathe again. It was like a breath of fresh air. I want to thank Pastor Bill, Mr. P, Mrs. Hallman, and everyone on the team for helpng me and teaching me how to evangelize and apply biblical lessons to my life."
