Preschool Academic Programs

West-Mont Christian Academy seeks to provide a Christ-centered, safe, loving and nurturing environment for every child. Our preschool provides a robust academic program that is play-based and incorporates a comprehensive preschool curriculum. West-Mont incorporates STEAM into daily lesson plans with age-appropriate experiments and multi-sensory manipulatives. We propose to educate the whole child; academically, spiritually, creatively, physically, socially, and emotionally. West-Mont’s goal is to reach every child’s learning style by incorporating visual, auditory, and kinesthetic teaching into each lesson.

Kindergarten

WCA Kindergarten utilizes a hands-on approach to teaching one of the most professional, nurturing, and fun kindergarten programs in the area! Our accredited program features highly trained and experienced teachers, strong academics, and a safe and loving atmosphere. The curriculum builds on our preschool program to develop each child mentally, physically, socially and spiritually.

For curriculum, we use ASCI Bible, Purposeful Design Math, and the Journey Reading Series. At the completion of Kindergarten, students are reading, recognizing numbers using place value, telling time to hour/half-hour, making simple coin combos and doing simple addition and subtraction.

We also blend all the academics with FUN! Our program offers small class sizes, STEAM activities, technology integration, art, music, and physical fitness. We also offer special class days (50th day of School, Q&U Wedding, among others) in addition to many field trip opportunities. Our fun and loving program lays the groundwork for future excellence in education.

Elementary

Elementary (Grades 1-6)

The West-Mont Christian Academy faculty works diligently to ensure that all students learn at a level that appropriately challenges them. Our teachers understand the value of relationships with students and working in a collaborative culture with fellow teachers. We strive to help students see God through everything they learn in the classroom.

It is our goal to assist students in finding God’s direction for their future. The courses offered at WCA support these initiatives. Furthermore, we value the way that God has created each student differently and we work hard to vary our teaching methods accordingly.
